June 28, 2013: Anchor Chain

365 Project, Day 8
Here is my day eight submission to my 365Project:

Now that I'm on the vessel most of my photos will either consist of events around the vessel...or any wildlife we'll be seeing. We're at anchor today so I decided to take some around the ship and thought the anchor chain made interesting subject with a shallow depth of field (DOF!) :)

June 27, 2013: Shipyard Boats - Point Noire, Congo

365 Project, Day 7
Here is my day seven submission to my 365Project:

I arrived last night after 30+ hours of traveling to Point Noire, Congo. We were supposed to leave from this port last night by the transfer boat (the one in blue!) to join the ship but it was decided it would be to dangerous to do this transfer at night so we came back this morning. I wanted to a long exposure of these two derelict boats (and the rat running along the deck of one!) last night but it would've been difficult to pull out my camera and set it up in that situation. When we returned this morning I was able to get this panoramic photo on my iPhone. I love the fact I can easily get these shots with my phone during the hectic times of travel.

June 24, 2013: Yam Soup

365 Project, Day 6
Here is my day six submission to my 365Project:

I just finished traveling  to Congo to join a vessel for my next job offshore Angola so I was very busy and didn't have the chance (or energy!) to take many photos. The only one I had for June 24th was this one I took of huge pot of yam soup I made while trying to eat all the food in my house before I left. So, I figured I'd this photo to play with some post-processing and this is what I got.

June 23, 2013: Mallard Duck With Her Chicks

365 Project, Day 5
Here is my day 5 submission to my 365Project:

I was photographing ducks early this morning at Beacon Hill Park when I realized this Mallard Duck had three chicks sleeping under her...so I waited and photographed them as they started to wake up and stretch their little wings and legs. So sweet!
