December 12, 2013: Altocumulus beauty :)

365 Project, Day 137

Here is my day 137 submission to my 365Project:

Okay, I'm way behind on my posts because LIFE happened, ha ha! Actually, we were finishing up the project and I got busy working on our data and writing the report. 

So, It's now well into January and I'm catching up again, eek! Oh well, such is life! Here are some photos from yet another amazing offshore sunset. I absolutely loved how golden the sky was and these altocumulus cloud formations created such an interesting ceiling effect:

Fun fact of the day:

I believe these were Altocumulus clouds. Altocumulus clouds do not usually produce rain but could indicate a weather change in the next day or so (in fact we had light rain the following morning!).

December 1, 2013: Captains At Rest

365 Project, Day 128

Here is my day 128 submission to my 365Project:

We conduct our visual watches from the heli-deck on this vessel so spend most of our days enjoying the sun and sea breezes. For the rest of the crew though, their time on the heli-deck is one of their rare moments of rest and relaxation. This afternoon our two captains were taking some time out enjoying the sun and working on their tans before they head back to Norway in a few weeks. I really liked this photo of the two of them taking it all in :) 

Fun fact of the day:
Northern Angola, where Cabinda Province lies, has a damp, tropical climate. We  are currently in the rainy season in Angola (November to April) and temperatures along the coast typically range between 20-24C.
