365 Project, Day 142
Here is my day 142 submission to my 365Project:
We're at anchor today just offshore Chevron's camp in Cabinda. There are SO many offshore installations in these waters. Here's a shot I took of a jack-up rig or mobile offshore drilling unit (MODU) as we were transiting to our anchorage early this morning.
Fact of the day:
Jackup rigs are self elevating. The rig's legs rest on the sea floor and the drilling equipment is jacked up above the water's surface.
