September 12, 2013: Italian Kitchen

365 Project, Day 78
Here is my day seventy-eight submission to my 365Project:

Fiamo Italian Kitchen in Victoria, British Columbia - a delicious place for a night-before-birthday dinner before a night on the town at Rifflandia Music Festival :)

Fun fact of the day:
Pizza was invented in Naples in the 18th century. Originally this dry, flat bread was considered food for the poor but when Queen Margherita of Italy tried the flat bread she liked it so much she ordered her chef to prepare a variety of pizzas for her. The pizza containing the three colours of the Italian flag (white - mozzarella, red - tomato and green - basil) was called Margherita pizza in her honour and was one of her favourite foods.

Some more photos from my pre-birthday celebration:

A new restaurant in town Little Jumbo - great place to start the night with one of their specialty cocktails or to have a full sit down meal with drinks

Enjoying a cocktail at Little Jumbo and the extensive bar and talented bar staff working behind

 Dinner with friends at Fiamo

Tonight was the first night of Rifflandia Music festival and we took in the huge selection of music at some of the many evening venues including this show at Alix Goolden Hall performance hall of the Victoria Conservatory of music
